CRAFT: Authors in Conversation...Jay Bergen
“I like your tie. What’s the story behind it?” I asked John.
“I found it in a secondhand shop on Broadway. It’s hand-painted,” he replied.
“It shows a butterfly trapped in a spider’s web. I’m the butterfly trapped in Morris Levy’s web. I’m going to wear it during the trial.”
This is one of many fascinating conversations that transpired between John Lennon—yes, THAT John Lennon—and my next guest at CRAFT, Jay Bergen. The lawyer-turned-author is joining me to discuss his book, Lennon, the Mobster & the Lawyer: The Untold Story. I know I am just giddy at the thought of picking Jay’s brain about what it was like to represent one of the most well known musicians and activists of our time.
It all takes place at Asheville’s Little Jumbo cocktail bar. The mixologists will, as always, come up with a specially crafted cocktail for the occasion, Malaprop's Bookstore/Cafe will be on hand to sell Jay’s amazing book, and Jay will around to sign your copies and regale us all with his amazing stories.
